Sika Woods is an exciting development of new housing in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. The scheme combines our experience in exemplary one-off houses with an interest in the broader conversation about good housing. Typically housing design ignores the fact that good space, light and connection to nature are vital to our wellbeing. Our vision here is to create a positive, bright and healthy environment to enhance quality of life.
The orientation of the rows of houses are to maximise day light and sunlight, whilst their arrangement on site is to bring nature in and frame the rolling Wicklow landscape. The houses themselves are genuinely generous. Each house has a 12 foot tall ‘Georgian room’ with great ‘flow’ to outside. The distinctive pitched roofs and gable ends are reminiscent of Irish cottages. For us, the project is about bringing the skills of sensitively designed houses into multiple housing.
We believe Sika Woods will offer an exciting alternative in housing design in Ireland.
